Today there are 6.5 million carers in the UK and for the past 50 years we have been driven by carers, raising their voices together to call for change and seek recognition and support. Carers UK is both a supportive community and a movement for change.

Our mission is to make life better for carers.

  • We give expert advice, information and support
  • We connect carers so no-one has to care alone
  • We campaign together for lasting change
  • We innovate to find new ways to reach and support carers

Online forum

The Carers UK Forum is our online community of carers and is available to Carers UK members 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A few words from a fellow carer who understands what you’re going through can be a lifeline. So whether you need to share an experience, ask a question or simply let off some steam, log in and join the conversation.

You can find more information about our forum here.

Annual report

In 2021, Carers UK created an ambitious direction of travel for the next five years, taking the charity up to their 60th anniversary. Supported by three overarching pillars, Equality, Support and Recognition, and overseen by the new values, Vision 2025 sets three key goals:

  • To create a society that requires carers to be treated equally in all aspects of their lives.
  • To connect carers so that no one has to care alone.
  • To halve the time it takes for carers to recognise themselves as carers and get the support they need.

Carers UK's Trustees' Annual Reports and Accounts for this year has been split across two documents. The first details the challenges that unpaid carers faced and what Carers UK did to help make their lives better; the second contains the report of the Trustees together with financial statements.
