A total of 12,500 carers and former carers took part in the State of Caring online survey this year. 

Carers UK released the Impact of caring on: Finances report which found that unpaid carers are finding it increasingly difficult to afford day-to-day living costs, with the worry and anxiety of this affecting their mental health and wellbeing.  

Carers UK has also released the Impact of caring on: Employment report supported by TSB Bank for Carers Rights Day which found that many carers are finding it increasingly difficult to juggle work and care and that reducing hours or giving up work to care can have a negative impact on a carers' health. 

The final State of Caring report shows the impact of caring on carers’ mental health and the need for support from social care services.
