Carers Week is a great opportunity to raise awareness and recognise the huge contribution carers make. Across the UK today 6.5 million people are carers, supporting a loved one who is older, disabled or seriously ill.
Carers Week 2019 is made possible by Carers UK working together with six other national charities. Together we're asking local communities, organisations and individuals to join us in 'Getting Carers Connected'.
EfC member British Gas, part of Centrica, are the headline supporter of this year's Carers Week.
The campaign is brought to life by thousands of individuals and organisations who come together to organise activities and events throughout the UK, drawing attention to just how important caring is.
If you’re planning an event or want to see if there is one near you, find out how to get involved on the Carers Week website.
Getting Carers Connected
This Carers Week, we’re coming together to help carers get connected. Caring can be a hugely rewarding experience but carers often find it challenging to take care of their own wellbeing whilst caring. Its impact on all aspects of life, from relationships and health to finances and work, should not be underestimated. Caring without the right information and support can be tough, which is why it is important to ensure carers access support as soon as possible.
