In February, Norton Rose Fulbright hosted the first of our corporate EfC roll out sessions for our London-based members. The purpose of the event was to give our clients an opportunity to discuss challenges, successes, and advice on supporting carers in the workplace and how to make more of their EfC (and Digital Resource for Carers) memberships with us. Our well attended EfC Member Networking Event on the 16th October, hosted by DWF LLP, focussed on sharing latest learning from dedicated carers groups and wider staff networks and how ‘Interaction gets Traction’. Our EfC Members Networking Event on 20th June, hosted by Barclays in Canary Wharf, focussed on ‘Getting Carers Connected’, the theme of Carers Week 2019. This well attended event celebrated our busiest Carers Week yet with over 1,000 events in total including many workplace sessions hosted by EfC members. The event was opened by Siobhán Healey, Content Manager, Global Diversity and Inclusion at Barclays. The spring Wales Hub Employers for Carers (EfC) networking event took place on 28 March 2019 and was gratefully hosted by Cardiff Council at County Hall. The theme of the event was on Carer Passports and we again welcomed a mixture of member and non-member organisations to the evening. The event was opened and chaired by Sara Williams, Wales Hub Manager for EfC who provided an overview of the key findings for Wales from Carers UK's ‘Juggling Work and Care Report’. Employers for Carers (EfC), celebrated its 10th anniversary this week and marked the occassion with the launch of Carer Confident, the first UK-wide employer benchmarking scheme of its kind. This pioneering scheme recognises and accredits UK employers who have built carer friendly and inclusive workplaces. Over the last decade, EfC has gone from strength to strength, with a membership today of over 115 organisations from a wide range of sectors, and a reach of over 1.5 million employees. The first Wales Hub Employers for Carers (EfC) Networking Event was held on 18th October 2018 in the centre of Cardiff at Sports Wales, Sophia Gardens.
