Employers for Carers (EfC) are hosting a special (additional) virtual event on Wednesday 10 November for members on the theme of Smart Technology.
The COVID-19 pandemic has heightened awareness of the benefits of technologies that can support working carers and the people they are caring for to live more healthily, safely and independently.
In response to increasing interest from EfC members in this topic, this event will provide practical information on smart technology that can help improve the lives of working carers and their families. It will highlight different ways this can support caring, ranging from everyday devices like smart phones, to assistive technologies such as activity monitoring and falls detection, as well as smart meters that can help save time and energy in managing meter readings and dealing with energy suppliers.
Experts from Carers UK and Smart Energy GB will be contributing to the event which follows a recent very successful jointly hosted ‘Share and Learn’ session for carers on this theme. Carers UK and Smart Energy GB are working together to help carers learn more about smart meters and some further information about this is available here.
